When we were young my older cousins all studied in the nearby school in Bulacan.All of them had danced a hula.I envied them so I told my mom that I wanted to go to school already so that I could get my self into a grass skirt .However, mommy sent me to Manila where the school do not have the same curriculum . During those times, I felt I was Rizal who was sent also to Manila to study.I was a voracious reader of Rizaliana the first time I started to read.Instead, I became a program host in school program, a part of the choir and a school journalist.I still wish I can still wear one and dance the hula.Hi!Hi!Hi!

In Grade 1,I also read the books of passion of Christ, and biographies of the saints which were the books of my late grandfather Pendong who was a devoted Catholic. He was very delighted to see me read all his books. He said I was his ugliest princesita because of my small nose but I was his favorite. he always made swings for me whenever I go home for vacation. He and my grand mother were mestizos and they felt that being morena and having low-arched noses are ugly. They called me " Moro" because I was not baptized while my Catholic cousins call me tiyanak.Tiyanak are dead babies who became monsters because they Are not baptized .They said that there were a lot of them near a boat and a small pond at the back of my Uncles' houses.I am the only tiyanak who becomes an obstetrician in this part of the country.Imagine what would the patients think if they learn that a tiyanak is assisting their deliveries.Much more if they learn that a tiyanak is doing their hysterectomies.

MY FAVORITE EGG

Many loves kwekkwek.This is an egg coated with orange flour.I like the balut kwekkwek and balut is an egg w/ chick embryo inside.The seller deep fried it and place it in a platter.I can eat three and it is delicious if dipped in vinegar. It is 16 pesos per piece.
I like the boiled balut better and it is good also either w/ salt or vinegar.My mother can eat 12 in one seating.I can only have three.They said it can make you strong specially when you are on honeymoon.
In Bulacan, there are people like us who have ducks at home.So they eat the balut that their ducks hatch.some people sell them- a kind of home business.
Almarie used to eat three pieces also.she loved it very much.

Umiiyak ako ng palihim dahil sa mga kabiguan ko sa buhay.Sana nasasalamin natin ang kapalaran para alam natin kung may pupuntahan ba ang ating pinagtitiyagaan.Ayoko ng umasa o mangarap pero alam ko, kumpara sa ibang tao, mumunti lamang ang problema ko sa araw araw.Masuwerte pa rin ako kahit paano.Kahit na sa tingin ko walang kahulugan ng mga pagpapagal ko.Maswerte ako at may tahanan akong mauuwian araw araw.Di ko inaalala kung may kakainin ba ako?Ang pinaka mabigat na problema ko kung tutuusin ay kung paano ako di kakain at paano ko susunugan ang mga taba sa katawan ko. Minsanminsan kumakain ako sa mga lugar na di pa nga napupuntahan ng iba.KAYA kong mabuhay ng mag-isa lang ako kahit na sa kalooblooban ko ay syempre di ko kaya mawala sa paningin ang pamilya ko.
Marami akong pinanghinayangan na nawala sa buhay ko.May mga mithiin ako na di yata kailan man mangyayari pa.Mga pangarap ko ay mistulang mga buhangin sa dalampasigan...nahahawakan pero kapag kinuyom sa mga palad ay nahuhulog at kumakawala.Wala akong magawa kundi bumuntung hininga.Tiningala ko ang langit pero wala akong maaninag.Mawawala rin akong balang araw at mawawalan ng saysay.Ganoon din ang tangi kong pangarap.
